For older kids, teens and grown-ups

Big feelings have no age limit

Calmlings is drawn for children aged 3 to 12, but anyone can do the calm moves on the cards. Here are eight to try right now, wherever you are.

Eight calm moves for any age

Each one comes from a Calmlings card.

  1. Big slow breath

Smell the flower, blow out the candle.

  2. Spot five things

Name five things you see and four you can hear.

  3. Wall push

Push the wall hard, then let go slowly.

  4. Butterfly hug

Cross your arms and tap, tap, tap slowly.

  5. Finger breathing

Trace your fingers, breathe in and out.

  6. Three good things

Name three good things about today.

  7. Eyebrow lift

    Lift your eyebrows, then relax.

  8. Warm hands

Rub your hands fast, then hold them still.

Big siblings can run the game

Older kids make great Tamers for a little brother or sister: read the Wobble together, offer a couple of Calmlings, and stamp the Tamed! seal when they get through it.

We’re thinking about a Calmlings set for older kids, teens and adults: new Wobbles like exams, speaking up and a busy mind at night, with a cleaner look. Leave your email and we’ll tell you if we make it.

Calmlings cards are educational tools, not therapy or medical advice. Every child is different, so use the cards in whatever way works, alongside the doctors, therapists and teachers who know them. If big feelings are getting in the way of everyday life, talk to someone you trust or a doctor. In Australia, Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800) is free for young people aged 5 to 25, any time.

Drag to turn the card all the way round. Double-tap to reset. On a phone, tilt your phone to tilt the card.
